Galactus DB Station 0.5.3 for Linux (x86-64)
================================================

Run ./gdbstation from this folder. Galactus DB, Explorer and the MCP server are all inside
that one file.

To add Station to your applications menu, run ./install.sh. It copies the program to
~/.local/bin, the launcher to ~/.local/share/applications and the icon to
~/.local/share/icons, all for your user only; nothing needs root.

Requirements
------------
- x86-64 with glibc 2.35 or later (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12, Fedora 36 and their peers)
- an X11 or Wayland desktop with OpenGL
- GTK 3, for the open and save dialogs
- a Secret Service for passwords: GNOME Keyring or KWallet
Most desktops have all three already.

To check the download, compare its SHA-256 with the .sha256 file published beside it:

    sha256sum gdbstation-0.5.3-linux-x64.tar.gz

First run
---------
Station makes an instance called "local" for you. Press Start server, and Galactus DB is
running on bolt://127.0.0.1:7687. The password is kept in your desktop's keyring; use Copy
password on the Server tab when a client asks for it.

Your data
---------
Instances, settings, snippets and history live in ~/.local/share/galactus-station (or
$XDG_DATA_HOME/galactus-station). Removing the program leaves them in place; delete that
folder as well to remove everything. Passwords are in your keyring under
"galactus-station".

The database runs only while the Station window is open. Closing the window stops it
cleanly.
